The European Atlas of Natural Radiation
Radon is a colourless, odourless radioactive noble gas and is commonly present in nature. The noble gas is considered the second most common cause of lung cancer, right after smoking. After many years of research and many measurement activities throughout Europe, the European Commission published the “European Atlas of Natural Radiation”.
The atlas provides basic information on the topic of radon and its possible effects on health, and provides clear information and plenty of accompanying maps.
The publication can be downloaded from the website free of charge.
To convey the contents in a comprehensible way, mach:idee created a three-minute animation and accompanying illustrations for the European Commission that explain the contents of the atlas in a short and concise way.
