Project Description
Contracting entity: Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, created in 2012-2013
This project consisted of a series of short animations explaining water treatment, focussing on the following aspects:
- How the water gets into the groundwater,
- how wells work,
- what the difference is between untreated and treated water,
- what ventilation is,
- how filters are cleaned, and
- the route of drinking water from the plant to the tap
The way untreated water is turned into pure water was to be explained using a 3D model of an existing water treatment plant. Towards this end, 3D visualisations, animations and a web environment constituting the framework were created. mach:idee developed the concept, and created 3D models, animations and illustrations on this topic.
A supplementary children’s book was also published.
