Client: Nature Conservation Centre Karlsruhe, 2010

A game-like environment was developed for the Nature Conservation Center Karlsruhe to guide visitors through the topic of a dyke breach scenario. The primary purpose is to raise public awareness of the problems that can arise if a disaster occurs. In this way, visitors can independently navigate the respective conditions of a flood caused by a dyke breach. A correspondingly embedded time scale facilitates the understanding of the duration of the events.

The application was realized with the game engine Quest3d. It allows users to gain additional information during a virtual sightseeing flight, to control the water level in the case of a dyke breach and to learn about the effects of the disaster on their own.
